                                                      Happy Monday!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!  Mine was alright.  I actually went home sick from work Thursday and Friday.  Chase was out of town so I just snuggled with my little nugget.
Best snuggler ever.
Saturday my girly-friend and I did a walk for Breast Cancer, and it was a beautiful day for it!  Afterwards we went to a little occasional antique/gift shop called Flamingos.. There'll be more about that coming soon!
Team Treasured Chests!
Later Saturday, I whipped together this Trader Joe's Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bar mix.  It was an impulse buy.  They had samples at the store, and they were absolutely delish.  And they were even better at home!

Worth Every Calorie!
But last week, I was working on this fun little project.  I found this table at the Goodwill for only $2.99!  I thought it was adorable, and I knew I could make it cute!  Sanding the top (because it's just plywood, and it's all scratched up) took longer than I thought it would.  I bought some awesome Martha Stewart antique gold metallic paint, got a new knob from Home Depot, cleaned up the rest of it, and it's done!  I finished it, and I love it!
Pretty cute, eh?
I've actually been working on a few projects, so stay tuned!

Not going to lie.. I haven't had a lot of motivation or inspiration lately, and it's REALLY been bothering me!  --I'm all "Where are you, creativity!?!"

So this weekend, I was bored.  Chase was racing, friends were working..  blah blah.  So I took Rocko to the dog park so we could both run a few laps and get some exercise.. afterwards, I did more exercises at home (yoga, core, and some arm work) and then I felt wonderful and motivated!
The happy endorphins you get from working out is just amazing, isn't it?!

Anywho..  So after that, I decided to head to Michael's for some inspiration.. plus, I needed a few things for some projects i'm doing for this wedding shower this weekend.

I bought some stuff to make a sign for the Bride and Groom to be (more to come on that later!) and while I was at it, I made a little one for our front door for some "curb appeal".  It's nothing too exciting, but I think it's cute!

I just bought these simple pieces from Michael's, and painted them!

BaddaBing BaddaBOOM!  A little pop of color for my front steps.

Afterwards, Rocko and I met some friends on the lake for a little relaxation.
Just livin' the dream.

Sunday, I met my girlfriend and we went paddle boarding through Lake Calhoun, Lake of the Isles, to Cedar Lake and back!  I've never paddle boarded on Calhoun, but it was really fun and beautiful!  Highly Recommended.

Last night Chase and I met with our Realtor for the first time!  He took us out to eat at Wildfire Seafood and Steaks, and it was delicious!  However..

--My first "No meat Wednesday" was cheated a little bit.. I was really going to try to just get a salad, but instead opted for Salmon...  Do you think that's bad?  Should I consider Salmon a meat?  Either way it was amazing.. and i'll just try better next week.

Anyways..  house hunting is ON!  We'll go look at a few next Tuesday, and I can't wait!  Our Realtor (Daniel is his name) seems to be very good at his job and was great at explaining some stuff to Chase and I.  Being first time home buyers, there's a LOT to know.  Since house hunting seems to start falling on Tuesdays, we're just going to start having Date Nights with Daniel for a little bit.. Haha!  They are FREE! :)

I'll stay updated on the house hunting.  I'm sure it will be quite the experience!

Plans for the weekend: I'm just going to clean and organize my house a bit, work out, and read.  Oh and Sunday is Rocko's 4th Birthday..  so we're meeting some four legged friends at the dog park to celebrate!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
We cheated a little on our date night again..  For some reason with this season it's just so hard!  The option we drew was $20 Casino night.. and that just didn't sound appealing to either of us at all.  I should probably just take it out of the jar, since neither of us are much of gamblers and can't seem to fathom just wasting money away at the casino..  Especially, since we're trying to save money.

Anyways.. Instead, we decided to head down to the small town of Carver, which is where I grew up, and do a little 3 mile hike around the river!  It was tons of fun.  It was chilly, and brought back TONS of memories from me growing up.  Rocko was having such a blast chasing squirrels and we just had a good time talking and enjoying the evening.  The river is so low right now!  Afterwards, we stopped and saw my mom and little brother for a little bit.  She was so excited and surprised to see us! Then we fell asleep on the couch watching 300.

I think walks are one of my favorite things to do with Chase.  It's the best time for talking.. just about anything that comes to mind.. and getting some fresh air and some exercise together too.  Win-win!

Moving right along..  My dear friend over at Mama's Got A Big Belly is making monthly goals and asking what ours are..  so I decided i'm going to start my own too.  This isn't a healthy living or exercise blog, and not all of my goals will be, but those are things that I try to practice anyways, so here we go:

NoVeMbEr GOALS
*No Meat Wednesdays.  I will never be a vegetarian, I just know that about myself..  and I Love meat.  But I can do one day a week, right?
*Yoga at least twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays ideally)
*Hit the gym twice a week (Mondays and Wednesdays)
*Try three new recipes.  Not sure what they are yet..  but it's a good goal for me so I get more comfortable in the kitchen!
*DO NOT PICK UP A SINGLE CIGARETTE  This is my first time admitting this here, but I am a smoker :(  GROSS-I know.  I have been trying to quit since I became engaged, and have done well on and off.. but the summer got a little bit difficult.  I'm now about a week strong and doing well.. and I just can't pick one up!  Not even a little, not ever!
*Be approved for a mortgage.. and maybe even put an offer in on a house we've had our eyes on :)  We keep talking about it, but our stuff is a little unorganized..  but we could get it done by next week!  So exciting!
*Make PJ pants for my cousins for the holidays.
*Read two books: Gone Girl and The Other Side of Midnight

There you have it!  I think it's good practice to set goals for yourself..  I'm excited to start achieving them!
