I haven't written anything in a while, mostly because I've just been pretty busy!  The weather has been perfect, we've been having so much fun!

One thing that I've been trying to do more often now that Everly is a little bigger, is to practice more sensory activities.  Sensory activities is sooo good for your babies development.. in all different aspects!  It helps build language, cognitive development, fine and gross motor skills, and supports social interaction.  Plus, there's so many fun and easy (and cheap!) ways to play!

I recently bought a blow up pool, which has been so much fun on it's own.  But while it was empty the other day, I wanted to have a little fun with it!

I picked up some organic plain yogurt and food coloring!  I just mixed up four different colors in a baking pan.  I was a little skeptical out about using food coloring, but I figured she wouldn't really be eating much of it.  And because I used yogurt, I was right.  She tried a little, but it was a pretty bitter yogurt, so she wasn't into it.

However, she loved playing with it!  She got so messy and was slipping and sliding all over the place!  We also played with a bucket of water and some bath toys.. Just can't go wrong getting a little messy!

Does anyone have any sensory activities that I should try?

Don't you just love those subscription boxes?  Or maybe you haven't started one because you don't know  what to expect.. I currently receive two, and I'm mildly obsessed!  It's so much fun to see what's inside!  Although sometimes it's hard to decide whether it's worth it or not.

I chose to start Citrus Lane mainly because I'm a new mom, and I thought it could help introduce me to new products that I didn't know about before for Everly's specific age.  Also, because it's just a fun surprise!  It makes checking the mailbox a little more exciting when there's more than junk mail and bills!

Here is what was in my May box:

Aditi Tank Bodysuit from Tea Collection- $16.50

5" Fish Playball- $9.99

Snack Container (2 Compartments) by Goodbyn- $3.99

Detergent Samples by Vaska-(samples, no price)

Total worth: $30.48

(Subscription price is $29.00)

Is it worth it?  This month I'm not entirely sure.  I love it because it introduces me to new, great brands.  I love the bodysuit, and started browsing the Tea Collection's website for adorable summer outfits.  I also have never heard of Vaska before, which is a new "natural" and eco-friendly dish and laundry detergent brand.  I haven't tried the samples yet, but they do have great reviews!
The ball and the snack container I could do without.. I guess the ball is fun, and I'm sure she'll have fun with it.  And I suppose the snack container will be nice to have, and add to the collection!  They just weren't anything special, I guess.

I'll definitely keep the subscription for now, and see how the next month goes!

I had a great weekend!  Chase was actually out of town racing.  Typically, I would make it for the first race of the season.  But, with the little one it just seemed like it would be a lot of work and not quite warm enough to enjoy ourselves.

So, Everly and I stayed home and did stuff around the house.  I hit up the farmers market, and got some veggie plants and fresh eggs.  I love getting our eggs from the farmers market!  Chase really wants us to get chickens, but I'm not sure how our neighbors would react to that! Hah!  Maybe someday.

We also went to the Arboretum because they had a huge plant sale!  So I bought a ton, and more veggies.
I can't for all of my fresh veggies to grow!  I have tomatoes, cucumbers, kale, sweet potatoes, bell peppers, jalapenos, broccoli, and brussels spouts.  I also bought a raspberry shrub!  I'm so excited!

On Mother's Day, my dad actually offered to take Everly for the day, so I was able to get the garden planted and get a Mother's day massage!  It was lovely.  Then, I met up with my younger brother and mom and we went out for sushi.

My dad and step mom actually surprised me with my FIRST painting from Everly and a handmade Everly Bookmark!  How cute is that?!

I forgot to share this quick little project I did:
This burlap banner was at the Target dollar spot for $3, so I thought I could have a little fun with it!  I painted Everly on it so that I can use it for decoration for her birthday party!  It isn't until September, but I'm always thinking ahead!  It was pretty fun, and it actually looks really cute hanging in her room right now.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!  More to come soon!

It's been a while!
Last week was awful for me!  Monday, I could feel myself starting to get sick, and of course Tuesday I woke up with a fever, as well as my daughter.  Let me tell you, when you're sick, it's no fun taking care of a sick baby, too!
Anyways..  one thing that helped me find some relief was my favorite detox bath!  I looooove a good hot bath, and we have a nice deep tub with jets, and it feels so good!
For my detox bath, I use:
2 cups of Epsom Salt
A Heaping spoonful of Coconut oil

Essential Oils- I usually use Lavender, and in this case I used Eucalyptus as well.
Epsom Salt is really key for detox baths.
There's just sooo many benefits from it!
Epsom Salt Baths help to relieve sore muscles, heal cuts, colds, and congestion, and pulls toxins from the body.  It's good for your skin and your nervous system, and prevents blood clots.
There's so much more information out there you can simply google, or check it out here.
Adding some Coconut Oil into the bath helps to moisturize the skin, and helps the essential oils disperse as well. Of course, I love lavender oil simply for the aroma as well as it's relaxing properties.  Eucalyptus oil is great for common colds and congestion!
So there you have it.. I took a bath three days in a row last week and each one was amazing.
I even gave Everly a mini detox bath for the same benefits, and it helped her sleep like a baby!
However, Thursday I had to get surgery on my knee again!  It wasn't too big of a deal.. I'm up and walking again.  But, I can't take a bath until the stitches heal.  Ah!  What a week it's been.
More to come soon!
Hey Ya'll.........  I'm here to share a super easy and tasty recipe for your sweet tooth!

The simple 5 ingredients:
1 Ripe Banana
1/2 C. of Rolled Oats
1/3 C. of Chocolate Chips
1/4 C. of Peanut Butter
..And a heaping spoonful of Chia Seeds, because why not?!

Just mix them all together, plop spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet, and bake at 375* for about 20 minutes!  They're so easy and good, and because they are basically banana and peanut butter, they stay soft in texture!  Perfectly fitting for my sweet tooth!

Enjoy!
